Good evening, wondering if anyone else out there has broken off the transmission line pressure sensor on the passenger side of trans? It broke off right where the sensor part goes into the trans. Wondering how anyone else has gotten this out. I’m stumped

Use center punch and then the correct extractor bit and drill it out. Need to know bolt size, if you have to you can go smaller to be safe if you don't know the bolt size. They got cheap extractor sets just like drill bit sets 15 bucks.

As long as you have centered the drill to the bolt, you shouldn't harm threads at all. This is why you need the punch, it protects the threads by allowing the extractor bit to not slide.

When a say smaller, I mean thinner, if it fails you can always go back with thicker. Just put a bits against hole and don't go thicker then hole, this is where you try thinner first.

Why did it fail? You can use a pencil torch try and loosen it first.

Never mind I was thinking of a different part, that wont work here. I have no idea how to get that out.

Is that just plastic? Maybe send a center punch though and see if you can wiggle it out?

.

If this is the one you should be able to get out with by screwing in a wood or machine screw the correct size far enough to pull out with pliers.

Thank you!! That is a great idea I will give that a shot tonight! Surprised I didn’t think of that must’ve just been too pissed off with how many issues I’ve had with it lately

No luck with putting a screw into it, I will be bringing a torch home from work tomorrow and try that.

Might be stupid but how bad would it be if I was able to just push the broken piece off into the trans? It should just fall into the pan correct?

Not the best pics but this is what I got tonight

The sensor pic is circled where it snapped off

What was the issue with trying to put the screw in?
Broken piece spins?
Hole to small?
If hole is to small drill out larger.
If you don't have a left handed drill bit....coat the bit with grease to hold the chips on the bit when drilling.
Try not to drill more than 1/2 deep

Pay a few bucks and let a trans shop get it done properly. Cheaper than new trans.

Heat the screw till it's cherry red then run it in,and let it cool for maybe a minute before trying to work the piece out

I would if I could afford it! Not everyone has that luxury of being able to send it away and I enjoy learning how to work on the things I’ve worked my tail off to obtain

I remember those days. My point is, a transmission can be an expensive learning experience.

have you tried starting the truck to see if the pressure inside pushes it out? ( I wouldn't run it long if its ******* out fluid ), could try a small fish hook, straiten it out first.

I think I have the pressure sensor all set but now I’m dealing with a broken bolt on the output speed sensor which is giving me a headache trying to remove it

Transmission is aluminium,so if you can get at the bolt with a welder, use the same principle as removing a broken exhaust manifold bolt on an aluminium head, weld a washer to the bolt then weld a nut to the washer/bolt,and slowly work the bolt back and forth to remove it.
