91 Octane

Im looking into purchasing the flashpaq F5. Why is the options 87 & 91 octane tunes. I live in Washington state and we have only 87,89(RAM recommends refer to manual) and 92 octane gas. Why in the heck is the option 91? Is the rest of the world getting different gas. Or am I stupid? Help me understand this blonde moment I'm having

92 octane? Usually I've heard of 91 or 93 being the highest available. Most tuners have an option for one or the other.

It depends on emissions. Cali only has 91 I believe. But here in TN I have 93. Diablo sport has two options of the same tuner. One is 50 states approved to keep with emission laws. And the other has the 93 octane tune.

So more than likely that's why that chip only has up to 91.

With a 91 tune, 91 octane is the minimum octane gas you can use. So, you can use the 92 that you have in your area. Most states have either 91 or 93 that I have visited. It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen 92.

We have 91, 92 and 93 depending on the station in central IL. The tuner I use with my mustang gave me 87 91 and 93 octane tunes.

I’m up in a Northwest Suburb of Chicago and it seems like 87, 89, 91 or 93 octane outside of E85, E15, and diesel at 98% of the gas stations up here.
