I broke 95,000 miles Friday on my 2014 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab with the 5.7 Hemi. I love the truck and it has been super reliable since I got it. I change the oil with the Pennzoil Platinum every 5,000 miles, brake pads and tires are the only real maintenance since getting it. The only issue I have had with it was with one of the Procomp Leveling strut's went bad which screwed up the ball joint in my Zone UCA. I replaced both and no issues since. I also when I first got it would have issues with the trans dropping gears and compression brake. Once it did that on Interstate 95 at 70 miles an hour. I thought my engine was going to blow I had it on cruise at about 1700 rpm when it dropped gear and suddenly threw me and my wife forward and jumped to almost 5000 rpms. When I took it to the dealer they said no codes were thrown but they flashed it with an update and I haven't had the issue in almost 2 years.

I have always kept my vehicles until it cost more than it was worth. Reading this an other forums I am wondering if there is anything I should do preemptively with the common issues I keep reading about with the broken manifold bolts, the lifters and the cams?

I will be having the plugs and PCV valve replaced soon. I have read conflicting reports of whether I should have the trans fluid replaced?

What should I be looking at maintenance wise to keep the truck running like new.

At this point I would say front and rear diff oil, transfer case oil, spark plugs at the 100k mark as well as transmission (some will argue the lifetime fill) yes Chrysler says lifetime, but ZF says 100,00 kms and you're close to 160,000. I'll go valvoline lifeguard once out of warranty. One of the members on here verndiesel got over 700,000 miles using it in his ZF 8spd towing travel trailers for a living so that says it works well enough. pcv valve. Leave the manifolds unless they leak in my opinion. They don't all fail. Some guys have suggested fresh brake fluid as well. I'd do new coolant and check the serpentine belt.

If you haven’t changed the tranny fluid it would be my first thing on the list. There is no such thing as a lifetime fluid. Lots of info on this forum about the ZF 8HP70 transmission fluid change procedure. It’s not too complicated but needs to be done correctly. ZF recommends changing the fluid at about 60K miles or somewhere close to that for this expensive 8 speed.
