A/C Issues

My A/C works very well while the vehicle is moving but if it sits in traffic for a few minutes it starts blowing hot air. I attached a recharge kit but it shows as being fully charged. I also used CarMD to detect any issues it could find and there were none.

Any idea what the likely cause of my A/C issues are?

Next time the engine is up to temp turn your ac on full and get out and check 2 things,

How quickly does the ac compressor cycle. Frequent off and on and only on for a few seconds at a time means low charge.

And make sure the electric fan for your condenser is coming on.

tuning in as we have the same problem with our 2003, 1500.

if i put a can of freon on it that has the gauge and that shows it's 'full' does that mean that it's charged?
