Hey Guys,

I'm new here and wanted to see if I could get a little help. I have a 2008 Ram Laramie quad cab with the HEMI that I bought new. I've had a problem with my A/C the past couple of years. After I start my truck, it takes between 5 and 10 minutes for my A/C to start blowing cold. Finally, it will start to blow cold, but this sucks in the Summer. I took it to the dealership I bought it from when it was still under warranty and they said there was nothing wrong. I hate dealing with dealerships so I just left it alone. I was thinking about having an independent A/C check it out, but thought I would ask if y'all have ever had any problems like this? Any advice or help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Derek

Welcome to RF Derek.

If you take it back to the same dealership after the warranty they will find something wrong with it. Sounds like you might be low on freon. Does the air blow hard like it should? If you change the air position i.e. (floor, dash, mix) does it change with each setting?

Maybe someone else will chime in.

Your ac should blow 30 degrees cooler than ambient temp. Not sure the number if you live in colder climates. You may be low on freon. I'd suggest an A/C system 'flush' which discharges, tests, and recharges your system. A/C isn't generally something you can mess with without the proper A/C machines so go to a reputable shop that won't rip you off.
