I have a 40KM drive to and from work. Coming home takes about half the time as there is no traffic at 2AM. My mind can wonder and I can wind down from work. Last night I was thinking what a pleasure it is to own a vehicle like we have. The comfort of the drive, the view and of course the power. This is the best purchase in an automobile I/we have ever made. This forum goes hand in hand with the RAM. Without it, I'd be lost. Thanks so much for the info here.

I look forward to making a few more changes to the truck over the next few months. :weld: <--- not sure why welder guy looks like a flame-thrower dude. ;)

Usually don't get a defective part twice in a row! Better to get the bugs out under warranty than afterwards. My Ram is 10 years old and good for another 10 easy and I would be confident to drive it anywhere. Now if you happen to drive through salt 6 months a year then any vehicle put through such abuse will die an early death. Sorry you had so many troubles and sounds like you just got the bad one built that week. Good luck Sir!

I bought a Chevy Silverado full load brand new in '03.
Truck is in pretty good shape considering it's got almost 300,000km on it. Drives good, but it was time to put it out in the back lot. Too many things starting go wrong, besides the tranny and the transfer case about a year ago, mostly little things.
So I found this 2010 with 45,000 miles on it with basically all the exact mods I would eventually do on kijiji. So I bought it a month ago.
I'm telling you I thought I had a nice truck before! Doesn't even hold a candle to my 2500 Cummins diesel. This thing is awesome. It has all the toys except moon roof and power pedals. I love the exhaust brake, reminds me of some of the semi's I drive. Cold mornings it automatically kicks the idle RPM up to 1100 RPM and if you want to run it higher you can. The list goes on and on, but I couldn't be happier. It is the perfect truck for me.

I had an '01 Z71 4x4 year back. Was a good truck but my 2010 Sport is much nicer. This truck has more power, more options, and just a better truck IMO. That Z71 was the only Chevy out of many I didn't have problems with. My '98 Dakota was a solid truck as well. The reason I went to a Ram. I really like these trucks. Still going crazy waitin' to lift mine though, lol.

Glad to hear a happy RAM owner, and glad to have you part of the forum!

I read a lot of car mags and I've learned that EVERY car company puts out a stinker from time to time. I've read about Mercedes trannies going out in the first week, a Lexus with a locked up engine days off the lot and a Rolls that all the lights quit working on after a month. Then someone buys a Kia and never once has an issue. It happens but that's why warrants are standard. A lot of people touch a vehicle on an assembly line and one screw up can start a chain reaction. Sorry your having so much trouble. Buying a new vehicle is like playing rush and roulette with a 10,000 cylinder revolver. Most of us win.

I have had a LOT of new cars. Everything from a Honda accord to a 440hp Mustang. Every single one of them left me wanting out after 6 months (I didn't do that of course). They all seemed to meet some of my needs but left other needs wanting.

My Ram, in its current state, is my hot rod, my sports car, my hwy cruiser, my family car, my furniture hauler, my Saturday night cruiser, my V8 music maker... You get the point, the list goes on.

No automobile can be everything but my Ram comes as close as I can hope to get. After almost a year with it I couldn't be happier!
