Hi all,

This will be my first RAM, I put the deposit on it tonight and am going to drive 3 hours to pick it up tomorrow. The RAM dealership gave me a great deal, basically I'm crazy if I walk away.

My only hold up is the 6.4A (without NAV) which can be upgraded with NAV. I found out the "6.4A with NAV upgrade" is NOT the same as the "6.4AN". It says the missing feature is "3D navigation", but never explains what that means.

So if I buy the 6.4A and add NAV; what does it look like?

Option A, truly crappy navigation:

Option B, normal navigation:

Option C, overkill navigation:

Please let me know ASAP, I have to make a decision tomorrow morning.

Justin

Hopefully someone can help you out man. If you're on the west coast, It's usually pretty dead around this time since most of our users are on the east coast.

That's why I wanted to get this question up tonight, so when I wake up I have my answer. :)

Thanks!

I don't think I understand the question. If you're trying to figure out what navigation comes in a new ram, it looks like option 2. If you're trying to get an opinion of what we like, option 3 looks good but before graphics I would make sure I have nav with lane guidance.

I changed my initial post; I hope it's clearer now. Basically, I want to know what the 6.4A navigation feature looks like.

Not sure, but 3D on my iPhone looks like #2. Not that that helps you... Make sure it's EXACTLY what you want, because what I'm hearing is that there are no aftermarket solutions for it currently.

Is it a 6.4 or 8.4? Mine came with the 8.4A which is NAV ready. I just wanted to let you know that they charge $600 to $700 for the upgrade to NAV and there are no hardware components, they just flash it or enter a code or something like that.

I bought the 8.4AN - the "N" indicates the nav is already activated. Adding the N (8.4aN) as a factory option is $500 msrp and $425 dealer invoice, so it is worth it rather than paying more later to have the nav activated on the 8.4a.

Here is a link for the details on the 8.4 radio.

As stated above, make sure it is exactly what you want before you leave with it. I've heard horror stories of people trying to add nav later and other stuff as well on 2013s. I've experienced it a little myself on my 2012. It has EVIC, but not compass. Two dealerships have told me I can't add the compass. I'm still not fully convinced, but it has turned out to be not as simple as I thought it would.
