Abs flushing?

Anyone with Abs ever flush their brakes and have issues?

There is no reason you would have issues if you know what you are doing. Unless you have a scan tool to actuate the abs module, there is no way to get air in there if you mess it up.

I'm going to be using a pneumatic brake bleeder. As long as I'm careful I shouldn't have issues with the abs right? Do cheap scan tools work to activate the abs that you know of?

Cheap scan tools will not read ABS codes or activate ABS solenoids.
To flush the system start by removing as much brake fluid from the master cylinder as you can. I use a turkey baster for this. Next fill it up with the correct brake fluid and starting with the RR crack the bleeder screw open until you get clear fluid. Then go to the LR, RF and finally LF. But whatever you do DON'T let that master cylinder run out of fluid.

Okay that's the process I was going to follow. But when I read about abs potentially being an issue, I got nervous lol. Thanks !

No problem. If for some reason you can't get a "good" pedal, it's ok to start the truck and then go through the bleeding sequence. If you do start it just make sure you have somebody pumping up the brakes instead of using a pressure bleeder. Good luck..

Took about 45 minutes. Brakes feel firm. Tried cleaning sensor, but lights still coming on intermittently. Oh well.

Good, at least you have good brakes, that's the main thing, you just don't have ABS. To me, I couldn't give a **** less about ABS. I grew up in the hills of WV without ABS and faired just fine.

Right... I just hate the light being on. However, since I posted last, it hasn't come on yet. But now that I said that, I'm sure out in my truck in the parking lot somewhere, a light is turning on hahaha

You might have a front wheel bearing starting to go, I can't say for sure, but it's possible. I had a Grand Am that ate wheel bearings for breakfast. I could tell when it was starting to go because the light would come on. Sure enough a few thousand miles later you'd hear the tell tale growl.
