I have a 97 2500 with a Cummins 5 sp. My RWAL rear Abs quit working quite a few years ago. Then about a year ago the brake and ABS light came on. I have been doing the Dodge manual 7 step troubleshooting guide and all the electrical checks out ok, on step 7 they go into the RWAL valve which is located underneath the master cyl. and attached to the portioning valve. The way it tests it has a bad internal case to ground. I tried ever way to test it nothing. I think it's the RRset circuit. I was going to remove it and see if I can fix it but didn't want to take the lines off and put air in the system without knowing if it can be fixed? And you can't get a new one. You can buy a used one off eBay, but I could run into the same problem. So before I remove it I need to know a way and what I would (need parts wise & how to go about it) to remove the RWAL ABS system from my truck and go with the regular braking system without ABS. Thanks . Jack.
