My abs traction control light r on n 4x4 is temporarily disabled. Scanned the truck n came back front left abs sensor n right rear but right rear only coded out only once. I cleared computer n took the truck for a ride which resulted in lights coming back on. Scaned it n only frnt left abs sensor. Replaced it n light is still on. Going to replace rear right now. Why is my 4x4 disabled? I'm thinking about cleaning the sensor first b4 replacing it.

I'll take a WAG but do you have the BW 44-44? It has to sense tire slip, i.e., different wheel speeds and if the front sensor it messed up it may not be able to determine "when" it should send power to the front.

I changed the front sensor. Why no 4 wheel drive? If the rear sensor is bad will that cause it to disable 4 wheel drive?

If the 4x4 has one of those auto positions, it uses the wheel sensors to determine when to send power to the front axle. Thats how it detects slippage. So when the wheel sensors are bad, you won't have 4x4 auto, and you get a warning. You should be able to manually switch to 4x4, however... but dunno for sure.

Clean out the sensor connectors. Apply a dab of dielectric grease, wipe down the sensors, and see how it goes.

Your on the right track accept for that last part, even when you select 4loc it still requires slippage from the rear wheels before sending power up front.............though this is talking about the BW44-44 which has the "auto" function.
