accelerating engine whine

ok so for about 3-4 days now or thats when i just noticed the sound but i noticed like a whine sound only when i accelerate almost like a supercharger whine but not as loud it sounds like it spools up on acceleration and down when im slowing down has anybody else heard this on there 4th gen is it something i need to take it to the dealership for to take a look at it any help apprciated thanks in advance

Any strange noise on a new truck is worthy of taking to a dealership to have it looked at. You paid for a warranty, make them earn your money.

Ya I know :/ lol its just I only have like 5k miles till my warranty is over and I just don't want to deal with them trying to keep pushing it over till my warranty is expired tomball dodge is bad about that did that with my charger I had might stop by a different dealership on the way home from work hopefully there not like that

Yes it does it in p and n but like a very faint whine it doesn't stop as long as the engine is running it has that sound

Cool. Best bet would to stethoscope the bay but as others mentioned i would take full advantage of the warranty.

Ya ill see if I can take it right after work today and see if I can get my mirror turn signal replaced as well as my windshield washer nozzle lol

But hopefully they can tell me what it is and hopefully nothing major

Mine has been out of warranty for a while haha. Mine almost sounds like the intake box is loose but no luck there. Trial and error until I just can't fix it.

doubt it would be your problem, considering how new it is, but maybe the ac compressor. i had a sound like thisand it bothered me forever last year and i never figured it out, stopped for a while, then the other day i started using my ac again, the noise came back and it hit me lol... only happens when the ac is on

^^^ I wish that was the case with mine as long as the engine is on it whines a/c on or off well I only turned it off for a verify moment to check of that was it park nuatral accelerating deccelerating



Oh and well I stopped by the dealership but the guy tolde it was to late to start working on it so I'm going Saturday bright and early :/ lol

But I have one question for anyone he told me power train warrenty doesn't transfer from person to person is this true and he told me if it somehow doesn't diagnostics alone would be 110 can someone answer this for me

You get the remainder or the 3yr, 36k bumper to bumper warranty. You do not get the 100k mile power terrain warranty.

What???? I l just looked in the warranty book and it doesn't mention anything about original owner only. Oh man, that sucks. The dealer I just bought my 2011 from didn't mention that either.

I don't believe that is true. I have seen multiple 20009-2011 trucks online that still list the 100k mile warranty as active. So I believe it will transfer. No reason for it to not.
