Hello!
2014 Ram 1500 Long Horn 5.7 Hemi 140K miles.
I recently found two of my driver side manifold bolts broken off and I had my mechanic install all new bolts and gasket on that side. That fixed the idle “tick” I had. However, l also had noticed a brief cladder when accelerating at about 2500rpms and around 4th gear. I initially thought it was the manifold heat shield rattling due to the bolts but that is not the case. This sounds just like what used to be referred to back in the day as a valve clatter. It happens briefly almost every time I get back into the accelerator after slowing down and reach about 2500rpms which is somewhere around 4th gear.
I’ve seen/heard of lifter issues with the 5.7 but how do I know for sure. Info and opinions appreciated.

I would send an oil sample out to Blackstone labs.

Maybe cutting the oil filter open would give you some info too.

Thanks for the response. I’m not familiar with blackstone labs but I’ll look into that.
Cutting into the oil filter?
I’m about halfway into the last oil change and I have it serviced religiously.
