adding camera where can i pick up 12 volts

Do the keyed on cig lighter don't mess with ignition wires.

why not just grab your reverse light so when you in reverse its on? then you dont need to run the wire all the length of the truck

I have a 2014 tradesman 2500 4x4 and wondering if you know what wire it is that turns on the back up light for the license plate mounted backup camera I got. I git a wired one so no interference so I have to run the rca cable to the monitor anyway and need a power source for both the camera and the monitor. If you have any sujestions would be great.

i dont know off hand. but its right at the 7pin trailer harness. reverse light, and ground.

search the forum here there has been a link posted many times (i cant find it right now) where you put in your vin and it will give you all the wire colors and pin/harness locations of the truck. thats what i used for mine.
