In another post I made, I'm having trouble with 2 of my 3 cigarette lighters. That got me thinking.. Can I add more? What's too many? I plan on upgrading my stereo system in January, Birthday gift to myself. I wanted to add USB ports to the rear seat so people will stop kicking my rear seat cigarette lighter.

Are there any mods like this? I was thinking of adding them in the back seat, where the arm rest/cup holder is or in the center, on the floor boards next to the storage area.

My mom and my niece take my truck camping every summer, and my niece always wrecks her batteries. My goal is to "**** my ride", and hand it off to my mom some time next year.

I replace the 12v sockets with flush mount usb sockets in the rear and in the front. Pulled the inferior apart, pulled out the 12v sockets, cut the wires and wired in the dual usb sockets, mounted them and done.

That's what I planned on doing. I also thought about wiring stuff into the 110v wall outlet I have in my truck. But that's something I'm not going to mess with.

How many outlets do you think I could get away with adding? I planned on leaving at least one cigarette lighter port so I can use my laptop in my truck when I travel. Sadly, it's a 3 prong plug, I'll have to figure something out.

Thanks everyone. I've got more than enough projects to keep me busy for the next year.

I have the center console and with the dual usb I added in place of the 12v under the phone holder, and the one I swapped out by the rear vents, I have a total of 5 now including the one in the center console under the arm rest. Don't know how many more anyone would need?

Well, I was thinking about replacing the single cigarette lighter in the back with double USB3.0 slots. I was thinking about adding 1 to the glove box because my brother uses a pad to charge his phone, so I was going to make a indented area for his charger to sit. Then 4 in the center console area. So that's what, 9 slots? Not all will be in use, I might even be able to drop it to 7, if my new stereo supports Android charging.
