AFE CAI question

Im in the market for a CAI for my 2011 Ram 1500 Sport and I've narrowed it down to a Volant, Airiaid, and AFE seeing as how they have the most HP gains advertised. My question is I see the AFE CAI has the just bolt on or clip on part that mounts to the existing factory air box, anyone know how restrictive the air box is or is better off pulling out everything and starting from scratch. Any advise would be appreciated

I have not installed a cai on my truck so i can't help...hopefully somebody that has done this can chime in

I love AFE .. got one on my Cummins .. but no idea on the 4th gen .

I think I remember a conversation about this somewhere on here. I believe according to that the stock air box is not very restrictive at all.

hhhmmm....maybe i should just take mine apart and see how restrictive it is...

i just put the k&n CAI on my 2011.
stock airbox isnt too restrictive.
just like the look of the open box/huge filter.
definitely louder under the hood when you stomp on the gas.
