After tranny fluid change, how long until it’s mixed up?

I finally bought a new Mopar sensor and swapped it out this morning. No codes after 50ish miles. We will see what happens when we get to 100 miles.

Still haven’t reached 100 miles yet, but I will say the transmission feels exactly the same as when the P0869 code is present. No difference with or without code.

Over 100 miles now. No codes. Will be driving 700 miles home tomorrow. If no codes after that, I have to conclude I got a bad sensor first time. Will update after I get back home.

I drove it w/P0869 code for probably 1000 miles. Temperature never got high. Only thing I noticed was an occasional slight delay when going from P to D or into R. Haven’t noticed the delay since I changed sensor‍.

I just dropped the pan and replaced the filters on a 16 2500 5.7 4x4 187k. Old fluid pretty dark. I would like to get as much of that old fluid out. How many miles until I drain and refill? I have a fluid extractor that goes down the dip stick that makes it super easy. My truck is shifting better since I swapped out 7qts of old with new. Used the Wix filter w/ a metal thread fitting. Thanks for that info forum! Figured getting more old out and fresh fluid in it could get better. Not as smooth as I would like. Clunky on downshift to 2nd when coming to stop at red lights.

Oh and there was a screw laying in my drain pan. It was from valve body and I found it’s home. Any chance that would cause P0934 or P0868? I cleared code after the fluid/filters change and they have come back after 100+ miles.‍♂️View attachment 542278
I think the trans takes 12 or 13 qts empt.

What you can do is get a pump and change some trans fluid w/o dropping the pay when you change the oil.

I'm closing in on 90K mileage. What I do is drain/change 2 qts of trans fluid when I change the motor oil. Trans Fluid get to look fresh

I drove over 700 miles yesterday and no codes. That first sensor was bunk. I’m calling this P0934/P0869 case closed. Thanks for listening to me.

Hahaha, my driver front wheel bearing went today coming home from fishing. So I got about 4 days of happiness before the next thing broke…..
