Pretty sure I already know the answer, but are there any aftermarket stock grind mds cams worth a hoot or just go with mopar? SKP, Melling?

Can I get away with an aftermarket VVT solenoid or am I likely to have issues?

I didn't miss it. Why wouldn't you get something like THIS, if you're going through the trouble of swapping the cam??
Because that cam alone cost more then I paid for the whole truck lol

That does look like a really nice option for a nicer truck though, if one of my good trucks bites the dust I may just go with that. Thanks for the link

Stick with OEM parts if you don't want to tune it. Odds are they'll out last the the truck
It’s an old abused fleet truck that was headed for the scrapyard but I decided to throw new cam and lifters in and see how it runs. So in other words it won’t take too much to outlast the truck lol. Any idea what to expect from an skp cam or has anyone really tried them?

Ahh, yeah that makes sense…UNLESS you wanted to turn it into a real fun street truck! Haha
One day, I hope to find an old ragged out 4th gen, reg cab, short bed and go balls to the wall with it.

Idk how much you want to spend, but I got a Mopar non MDS cam at scoggin-dickey Mopar for under $300. You'll find what you need if you call them. I couldn't find everything on the website. But they are a Dodge dealer, can get anything.
I received my parts today, all seem fine.
