I’m judging this based off of all other cars i’ve owned, but i don’t think this is supposed to happen.
Originally thought this was a transmission/engine issue, but it’s not seeming as such anymore. Today i was flooring it to get onto the highway from a dead stop, and the truck barely moved under its own power, and a very loud whirring sound occurred. (This sound only occurs when the A/C is on, and it sounds like the mechanical clutch fan is going into hyperdrive (which it isn’t, i’ve checked)).
Truck felt like i was barely tapping the gas until 2K when it jumped up and pushed me back in my seat. Decided to go back and do the same test with the air conditioning off, and the truck accelerated beautifully, no hesitation, and no extremely weird whirring noises. And also, the transmission shifted better.
Is this the A/C compressor going out and causing massive drag when it’s engaged? This doesn’t seem normal as my 2 other Chrysler vehicles (Both 300s with the 3.6L) don’t do this and accelerate beautifully. The A/C temp is cold, but not as cold as both of my 300s.
