Howdy folks. Have a 2020 RAM Rebel. Just picked up a travel trailer and it is on the lighter side around 4k pounds. When I put the TT on the truck, I was pretty surprised by how much she sagged in the rear. It definitely had a heavier tongue weight, but the rear sat very slightly lower than the nose. I have a WDH, but also ordered the Air Lift 1000 HD bags. Would love folks opinion or thoughts who have added these or something similar. My biggest thing is I do not want to negatively impact the ride quality at all on the truck when not towing the trailer. I literally just went from a 2500 to a 1500 purely for the ride quality. Would love any feedback on ride quality before and after that folks have had.

Cheers and thank you!

I had thought about getting those, but I found too many reviews concerning failures from far below zero temperatures. I don’t want to be replacing or removing them every winter.

Coming from two former 3500 trucks I do like the soft ride. I ended up going the route of Tuftruck 1211 springs instead. While the ride isn’t as soft, it’s nowhere oven close to as jarring or rigid as 1 ton rear suspension.

The problem is; ride quality is subjective, nobody can tell you what you will or will not like.

My 2 cents, the coil suspension is progressive so the suspension drops quite quickly at first, but if you put 1000 pounds on the back it will lose the same (about 2 inches of squat) as any other half ton. This has been tested thouroughly by (for example) the Truck King YT channel and others.

As for ride quality, like you that means everything to me. I did the Air Lift for a few weeks but when you're picky like me you can notice the difference even at the min of 5 psi. It wasn't brutal by any means, but it was noticeably worse and I didn't want the hit. Instead I spent time tweaking my WDH and now it rides level on factory coils. I do have 1750 pounds of payload though so I have more room in my suspension than many other guys do, your rebel might have softer suspension? You didn't say how much cargo you're carrying but 4000 pounds is pretty light and would transfer around 450 to 550 pounds which is well below your payload.

Anyway, I would just get your WDH dialed in as best as possible, use a cat scale if you need to. Then just hitch up, ignore the squat, and hit the road. To me the reduced ride 95% of the time when I'm unloaded wasn't worth it.
