I just purchased a 2026 Ram 3500 crew cab are. It has the air suspension. I’m thinking of getting a slide in camper. May be a dumb question, I know the a/s helps the ride comfort but does it work like air bags that you install with a camper to reduce sag?

Yes, it has mechanical sensors that detect how much sag there is under load. Unlike after market systems, it does some limits though. You can achieve stock ride height, and one other setting that is 1 inch lower than stock. From what I understand there is a load limit that the system senses by checking the air pressure in the bags, so it can be overloaded.

Before you get that camper, be sure to check the load limits on the door sticker. Pretty much any truck bed camper I have seen was really designed to be loaded in a 3500 dually, cause they are all heavy.
