Can I increase my idle rpm using AlfaOBD on my 2017 Ram? Has anyone done that before?

When I did this the idle speed went to where I selected on the screen and then back to the stock setting after the procedure was completed.

This is a series of test rpm settings for performing various diagnostic tests. They are not permanenet. I even talked to Alexi about a year ago, because I wanted to increase the idle rpm on my 6.4 so i have higher oil pressure at idle. Just bumping it 100 rpm makes a big difference. He researced it, could not come up with a way to do it unfortunately. I have been hoping he would post an updated option with that in it.

AlfaOBD can't do it. Technically it could, Easy for Alexi to program it. But it's in a protected area. Which AlfaOBD doesn't deal with.
It only touch's things that are options/diag/logs. You would need fully unlocked PCM to change it/save it. Then get something like HP Tuner or other tuning software.

I thought ALFA OBD could adjust idle too. This sucks...It only does 1 out of 4 things I bought it for. Adjust idle, TPMS Pressure Threshold (cant pull 5 digit codes), turn off MDS, changing tire size is the only thing that works.

My fault, I should have checked before I bought the whole thing....a waste of money.

There's a massive thread here at RamForum that identifies the available options with AlfaOBD.

One of my favourite tweaks is removing the fog light dropout when selecting high beams.
More like LED running lights on my Warlock, they illuminate the roadside ditches quite effectively.

I spend most of my driving time on rural highways so monitoring the ditches and tree lines for suicidal critters is required.

Also, global windows down with the remote is useful on those smoking hot days. I can drop the front windows to exhaust the cab area and start the truck while still on approach.

You can definitely adjust the TPMs thresholds with Alpha, I did it on my 2021.

As a baseline: The AlfaOBD can access stuff like the BCM and such, but can not change what is in the locked PCM (engine computer), only do the test functions.
Permanently changing parameters in the PCM, requires an unlocked PCM and a tuner like the Diablo or HP.

If you have an unlocked PCM, theoretically, AlfaOBD "could possibly" access it to make changes, but there is the whole bootloader issue between HP and Diablo unlocked PCM's are not the same.
