i have a 2015 ram 3500 that was recalled under the V06 recall. the recall had the steering drag link nuts welded so they can no longer be adjusted during a wheel alignment. there is a procedure out that has instructions on how to perform an alignment after the recall but a couple of tire shops have told me that those instructions do not work. they said i would have to buy all new parts to replace the drag link in order to get an alignment. one shop told me they would add a couple of hours labor to unweld the drag link so they could do an alignment. the dealer says they can do the alignment with the welded drag link but they charge extra for it. or they can replace the parts. but the replacement parts are not covered by the recall. seems to me this recall is going to cost you extra when trying to get an alignment.
what are people experiencing out there? how are you getting alignments after this recall?
