I have a 2018 ram 1500 with the non alpine six speaker stereo system. I Just purchased replacement speakers: kicker 6X9 3 way for the rear, kicker 6.5 2 way for the front doors, and kicker 3.5 2 way for the dash.
If the factory stereo needs more power can i install an amp for this set up? Im not looking to install a sub...just maybe something to push the new speakers.

You can install an amp on anything. It’s a matter of what connections you’re given out of the stereo to the speakers. With the Alpine system (I know you don’t have that) there’s a DSP in line right after the stereo that’s in the drivers front kick panel.

Yes sir, and to make tuning easier, maybe consider a 6 channel amp to tune each speaker.

I wasnt sure if the dash speakers would need their own channel or if they were fed from the front doors

Is there a wiring harness that would go from factory radio to the amp?

The doors and dash are connected, so if you want each channel tuning, you can do a 6 channel, or 4 channel add resistors on dash to padden them down a little.
This may be the easiest option.

Yes depends on the amp, you can go speaker level, or get an LOC.

What’s the recommendation? He can also add a dsp before the amp to restore sound quality stripped by the factory head unit.
