2019 Ram Big Horn - Right Door Speaker Not Working

The original radio in my truck was the factory 5” standard unit without XM/Sirius. In 2020, I upgraded to the 8.5” UAM radio with XM/Sirius, and it was successfully programmed to the truck. At the same time, I replaced the factory speakers with Kicker 6x9 speakers. Everything worked properly until early April 2026, when I noticed the right door speaker stopped working.


To diagnose the issue, I performed the following checks:

• Verified fade and balance are centered and volume is normal
• Removed the right door panel and checked the speaker connection (secure), also no damage to speaker cones
• Replaced the speaker with a known-good unit (still no sound) (original door speaker from 2019)
• Removed and inspected the radio connections (all secure)
• Traced wiring from speaker to radio connector and tested continuity (good on both positive and negative wires)
• Reinstalled the original factory 5” radio (right speaker still has no sound)
• I have also done the power button/tuner button sequenced push, and still have the same original issue

At this point, I have ruled out the speaker, wiring, and radio swap. I am open to any additional suggestions, as long as they do not repeat the steps already completed.


I am also unsure if my truck has dash speakers, but if it does, there is also no sound from the right side.


My question is whether the radio may need to be reprogrammed or re-matched to the truck. I do have AlphaOBD and have used it successfully before for other modifications, including installing a factory trailer brake controller.


Please let me know your thoughts or any other ideas.

When you checked continuity
Did you shake wires to check
for intermittent function ?

I would suspect the wiring
that goes thru the A post .

WOW, you should have found something after doing all that

dash speakers are easy to see... POP one of those corner grills, use your plastic tool and give it a good pry up... I checked my truck for a CENTER dash speaker, could have swore I had one but it was empty
