Android Auto v carplay

I don't understand how carplay can display a full sized google map on the 12 inch screen but the android can't..am I missing something or is there a workaround. I have a 21 Ram BTS edition that uses the same amount of screen for my maps as my phone does.

It's a limitation of Android Auto, not the radio. Supposedly a new version (android auto) to fix that will be released soon.
