Hello everyone I'm new here, I have a 2019 Dodge ram with the 8-in screen uconnect. Everything on it worked fine when I got the truck up until about a little less than a year ago. The factory radio screen cracked so I purchased a phoenix imitation 12 inch screen for the truck and had nothing but problems with it since I got it. My hazards didn't work my wipers weren't working correctly the radio stations wouldn't come in clear, so I opted to go back to the original factory radio and had a local dealership fix the screen and put it in for me. After they put it in everything seemed to work okay but when I went to set the clock and selected Auto with GPS it wouldn't work I had to set it manually, not really a huge deal but I figured her off it's the original equipment installed by a dealer than it should work..The other problem that I noticed was when I tried to plug in my phone to get Android Auto which always worked in the past with the uconnect factory radio it did not work. This time a red screen came up with my phone that said it is not supported I took the truck right back to the dealer because it was the same day and they said that there was nothing they could do they don't understand why it wasn't working. Just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else and you can give me any ideas on what to do to fix the problem

First, I'd say the dealer should warranty their work. If they replaced the radio they owe you a different on. If they actually replaced the screen their are several things that can be done when replacing that will disconnect the GPS antenna internally. However, a quick fix is to purchase this and use AA wirelessly (the adapter should successfully negotiate the communication error 8, just discovered this trick troubleshooting a radio for another member).

Hello, Newbie here. I have a 2021 1500 Big Horn W/8.4” infotainment. Ive been using CarPlay since new and just last week, CarPlay stopped working
I use an Apple USB c to USB c cable, tried a USB a to USB c. Looks like the cable isn’t the issue
Plug and play no longer works on my IPhone 16 pro, ver 26.4.1
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

BTW tried re pair BT numerous times to no avail.

Have you tried Carplay in a different vehicle or a different phone in yours?

Thank you, tried my GFs and sure enough it WORKS.
Duh basic trouble shooting!!!
Again thank you
IPhone is bad with crippling older devices. Sometimes, fresh backup and factory reset is the only fix.

I have I phone 14 Pro. I keep it updated and no trouble with my U conn 4. But then it is a plain Jane radio. No Nav/911 or OTA. STILL running on original OS from when built in April 2018. Not wanna touch ne thing while still working lol.

ADDED: Not upgrading phone either
Not want built in AI BS on phone 14 has no AI.

Android auto is the most aggressive application I have ever used, it will turn Bluetooth on on my phone if I don't connect and aggressively tries to make me do any action via the phone, I have to disable it, and do a complete 1st time connection if I want to use it for something like navigation otherwise my phone is tied to the truck. It will even try and connect if I'm in the truck but have the phone off. Sending constant messages it can't connect.

I finally put my phone in a Faraday bag, to shut the nonsense down.

Not a fun app in my opinion

Conversely, not updating can cause issues too...pick your poison

No poison here. Dealer has to update and dat is plumb skerry. Same reason not going beyond my I Phone 14 AI junkola. I am gonna have to get a battery soon for phone as it will only charge to like86% capacity now.

I’d have to do a lot of pm with U to get it updated. My SA at dealership told me leave it alone years ago as the upgrade was bricking radios than.
