Another backup/chmsl cam swap question

All,

I have searched and searched and found some comments about swapping the display location for the backup cam and the CHSML cam involving swapping the wires in the radio connector. I agree that if swapping the camera wires works, it would be the easiest/cheapest way to do it.

I have a 2015 Ram 2500 Laramie that has the backup and chmsl factory installed.

I am looking for anyone that has actually done this and can confirm that it works, so far I have only read about people making the suggestion but not actually doing it.

If you have actually done this, can you please verify if works and let us know if you needed a special pinout tool for swapping the wires and were there any pitfalls/lessons learned while doing the swap.

I am trying to get my ducks in a row before tearing in the dash and messing with the wiring on my new truck. Thanks for any help

Customtronix has everything you need including instructions on their website how to do this. You could keep both cams in the Radio. Also The harness connection has a solution to route the backup cam into the radio. They are listed on this site, run by n=member Cuylertech.
