I’m looking at the Magnaflow Street series cat back exhaust. Probably a question that has been answered many times but does changing the exhaust affect the warranty at all and does it require tuning anything at all? My 4th gen I bought already had the exhaust and lift done when I bought it. I just replaced it with a 5th gen 21 Bighorn night edition 5.7 with eTorque which sounds very tame! Any suggestions/thoughts are greatly appreciated! I’ve looked through so many post but haven’t came across a solid answer.

Nothing I've seen or heard with changing the exhaust (cat-back system or muffler) affects the warranty.

I too have the Magnaflow cat back system on my truck since new in 19', and when it was in warranty, no dealership had ever even mentioned any concern when I went in for warranty work.

Could a dealership be an a s s and deny you warranty for it, perhaps.

If it's pressing you, go into the local dealership and speak to the Service Manager / Warranty Manager and ask they if they would have any issue (deny you warranty coverage) with a simple cat back system installed on your truck were you to need to come into their dealership for any warranty and/or service work while your truck is in factory warranty.

How does the Magnaflow muffler sound when the truck goes into ECO MODE and is there any DRONE under normal driving conditions??:(

I just bought a 2022 5.7 BIGHORN and it's VERY QUIET........it may need to speak up a little!! ;)

There's very little drone with the Magnaflow system in general (for me anyways), but it does wake up under acceleration. I personally don't use the MDS/ECO mode on my HEMI; there could be minimal drone?

I've found (for me personally) that the Magnaflow cat back system sounds best as it's not raspy, obnoxiously load and crackly, even a WOT. It has a nice deep growl and a more bass note to it.

I also put a nice set of 5" tips on my baby too, and that also helps give it a different note too.

Thanks CanuckRam........

My daughter had a 2016 RAM 1500 5.7 with Flow-Masters and it sounded like a John Deere Tractor in the ECO MODE.....NO BUENO!!:(

I can put my new one in "Tow Mode" and eliminate the MDS or do the Gear sequence thing if MDS sounds crappy, I guess??:33:

Leaning toward the Magnaflow muffler......I had GREAT results with anything Magnaflow in the past!!

Thanks again and be careful up yonder!!:)

Flowmaster often drones and depending on which kit that was it may have been a chambered muffler which is really bad when paired with MDS for sound. With the Magnaflow being some tame during normal driving conditions it is not nearly as bad during MDS.

let me know if we can assist with a quote
