Sorry guys but after looking through tons of threads i still feel like i need to ask anyways...

I just recently bought my truck, transitioning for a 2008 crewcab silverado so i know what everyone runs on them but wondering what dodge owners prefer.

All i want to do is drop the back two inches and keep the stock ride, and payload limit. i would either do the Mcgaughy's (i know these kits were very popular for the chevy's) or the Groundforce 2" drop springs. I see both kits being used a lot and have seen complaints on both. I don't want to spend a ton as i would like to do a bit of a lift on it in the future but for now i want it to sit static for the meantime.

If either one will work fine then great, ill do whichever is cheaper, but do i need to change the shocks or can i leave my stock ones? i saw where people have and i saw where people haven't, so im a bit confused.

Thank you in advance.

^^That. The GF springs will be a lot more expensive.

Okay ill go with the mcgaughy's i have read people recommending the panhard bar, where can i find one of these? Also the stock shocks are not a problem with the mcgaughys springs, correct?

You don't need to change the panhard bar with just a 2" rear drop, just drill a new hole in the bracket if you're unhappy with the angle of the bar, which will be a very minor change with only a 2" drop.

0/2 front no, rears no
2/4: fronts no, rears highly recommended.
4/6 fronts no, rears definitely.

Yep that's the natural progression, lol! I went from telling myself that I all I really wanted to do to my suspension was the GF 2" rear drop, less than a year later I end up with the set-up below...

I've got the 2" drop springs and I left the stock shocks on. I didn't bother with a new panhard bar either. I believe the deflection was minimal with that small a drop.
