I have a 2017 RAM 1500 4x4 Limited. Just rolled 40k on the factory tires. I need to replace the tires. I do almost all highway driving, Although I will travel up north once in a while and could be in snow, my primary concern is heavy rain. Looking for something that is quiet, comfortable and will give me decent wear. Michelin Defenders are popular, but curious what people have tried and would recommend in my situation. I know there are a lot of threads concerning this but so far have not found anything that matches my conditions, although I’m sure they are out there. TIA

I put on 4 new Nitto CrossTek tires yesterday. After driving I felt a slight vibration starting at 70 MPH. Retuned to shop, they rebalanced saying one of the rear tires had 1.25 ounce weight fall off. Took it for another ride last night, it may have been slightly better but the vibration was still there. I returned it this morning, and picked up my truck with four new Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires. At least on my truck, there is no comparison. These Michelin’s ride noticeably nicer, no vibration and dead quiet. I’m glad I made the change. YMMV

The Michelin Defenders are a great tire and perfect for your needs.

How did you get that many miles out of the Goodyear’s? I only got 17k out of mine.

I hear that all the time, I must’ve got lucky I guess. I did rotate them at every service, other than that just kept the tire pressure proper.

It's not JUST your Truck. Reason so many people recommend Michelin Defenders LTX M/S Tires.
They are the best darn tire you can buy.
Every Vehicle I own has them, even the youngest kids Beater.

Cost a little bit more but worth every penny, as the tires last . . .

Another vote for the Michelin Defender. It rains quite a bit here in Austin and I have NEVER had a problem with them hydroplaning on wet pavement. They run quite and last a long long time. No idea of how they do in snow---it don't snow down here much--LOL
