with my last Dodge Ram
I was due for an oil change, i was driving a lot.
The oil changes were about 2 months apart.
I took the truck into the dealership Service area, they took it over to the Express Lanes for service, for some reason they did not do the 40 or 50 point check.
I had about a 500 mile job the next day, at about 120 miles in to the trip, i started hearing a metal on metal noise.
The more i drove the louder it got, i met with the trucker & his Wide Load at 153 miles into the trip.
The noise is getting louder with each mile & i knew that i had to follow that load back to San Diego & maybe even further. So 3 hours later, i was almost panicking & at that point the truck driver said that it was another 100 miles to the drop off point.
By that point, the rear end sounded like someone was dragging a steel shovel on the sidewalk. I still had to return to San Diego, where the dealership was.
They took my truck in at 7 am
They had to pull my rear differential apart, because they caused the problem, they cheaped out on the repair.
I know the Ring & Pinions had to be blue from all that heat, if i had been paying for it, they would have replaced them.
