Will it hurt reception if I spray paint it? Want to paint it black to hide it a little.

no sir a few of the guys have cut them down and painted em black without issue!

What they said. I know a guy in town who cut it and dipped it in plastidip. Works like stock, unlike mine!

I wouldn't cut it. If you are always in areas where there is good coverage, then you probably wouldn't notice it. You will loose signal quality quicker when you drive out of those areas.

Thanks guys, I'm all over it! Looking forward to it. This was the one oversight Ram made on these trucks IMO. Should've been imbedded in the glass.

I painted mine black last summer and after the winter it start to come off down near the base. I'm gonna take it off this summer and remove the spray paint and plastidip it when I do the rims.

What kind of paint did you use? I'm thinking of colour matching with duplicolor and topping it off with some clear coat.

I kept it simple with just using flat black. Since the antenna flexes all around in the wind i wanted paint that could "handle" flexing. I used Krylon Fusion.
