any idea when tuning will be available for the 2012's?

I don't think chrysler will let the computer never be cracked. They would lose way too much business. Eventually they will be cracked.

Probably in 5 years once the warranties end that way it doesn't cost them to a of money when people over tune them, break something and try to get it repaired under warranty.
A few people ruin it for everyone

Bullydog has a tuner for the 2011 4.7 ram just not the 2012 yet.

I have faith in the boys over at diablosport

I was reading in their forums yesterday, and while he (Mike Litsch) didn't divulge any real information he did indicate that they have made progress over the past year. In response to a forum member stating

"They've been working on cracking the encryption for over a year with nothing to show for it."

to which Mike replied

"Nothing you have seen...Believe me, if we were into a year of development with nothing to show, we'd have a high suicide rate."

So...perhaps they are getting somewhere.

Are you sure about that? The only thing I can find that works is the BD WatchDogTM Multi-function Performance Gauge. This is not a program, just a digital gauge. I may be wrong though

This seems like awful decesion to me. I would much rather have 390hp of untuneable hemi power then 310hp+the 10hp you may be lucky to pick up with a 4.7 and a tuner

I hope there were other reasons if not big mistake because there's no tuned for your 4.7 ram.

I agree that is a bad choice even if 4.7s can be tuned. However, 08-10 4.7 can gain upto 61.0 HP @ 4750 RPM and 66.0 TQ @ 4750 RPM with Superchips 93 octane tune.

Any proof to this? That seems like an awful lot for a canned tune.

That is what SC lists on there website. I do know that the 08+ 4.7s respond very well to tunes, but I do not have any personal dyno numbers. Even with that, 310hp stock + 61 is only 371, still 19 under an untuned 4th gen hemi

I have a hard time believeing 61hp.
Maybe 30-35 hp but thats a stretch I would think.
Ive seen dyno sheets that show the 91performance tune give 22 hp and 35 ft-lbs
Tuners on gasers just dont do much on stock vehicles IMO
