Great idea. Hope it works out and turns out to be a pretty easy mod.

I'd be definitely interested

I would love this mod as well. The shift button position is my only complaint about about this truck atm. J will be following this thread closely .gl

Has anyone ever done this in a 3rd gen? I know it would be more difficult since there is no shift buttons on the wheel...

Whyyyy didn't they offer this? Especially on the R/T's. The steering wheel of the R/T already has the +/- buttons on the steering wheel (8 speed) and the 6 speeds have it on the gear shift. They should have just made paddles!

I would love to have paddle shifters.
I just rented a Challenger R/T for a day and it had paddle shifters with the 6 speed. My thought was to swap out the whole wheel for ease. the only question is whether or not the rotary dial shifter would work with it since the Challenger had the slapstick.

Subscribed for updates, would love to see how this works. I'd love to do it in my 13 express except mine is a 6 speed.

If my paddles ever make it to the dealer I should be able to knock it out in a weekend.

these be blank
Do the paddles actually force a gear change or just adjust the highest gear selection? I've driven a few paddle shifter with torque converter cars and wow was that a waste of engineering since the delay was insane, even on a Aston. Got to test drive a Vanquish, on a whim I figured I'd stop at the high end used car place and ask if I could take a short drive for my birthday and still had my AMR flag in the truck.

I'm definitely interested, depending on how "factory" it looks, cost, and if I don't have to replace my steering wheel.

Updates? I've got a leather 300C steering wheel I'd like to use with paddles.

I've got the wiring all mapped out. I can make it happen. I'm just looking for a good deal on a steering wheel with paddle shifters to confirm everything.

If possible, i'd prefer not to have to replace my steering wheel...

That's my intent as well. I'm hoping the back of the steering wheel lines up. This is also an option. I should be able to make harness to simulate pressing the buttons on a steering wheel that has the shift buttons.
