That's my intent as well. I'm hoping the back of the steering wheel lines up. This is also an option. I should be able to make harness to simulate pressing the buttons on a steering wheel that has the shift buttons.

What is the real goal of the mod? If we'd have the real shifting possibility as in usual TIPTRONIC (and other like that stuff) boxes - than I could understand, but in our trucks u can just limit the range - what is actually not the real shifting- so what this mod would be for?
I explain if smb will not understand - if you drive a car with some ***tronic gearbox like in Audi/BMW and a lot of others cars - if you shift in manual and set e.g. 3-rd gear - the tranny shifts direct to 3rd gear (untill it stops) - and not UP to 3rd gear, 4th - is 4th and not UP to 4th - it is a different thing.
The only real appliance I see if you are using the engine braking (I actually used at my previous Audi A6 with wheel shifters and TIPTRONIC) but I'm not sure it will build you more engine-driver connection. IMO

The real goal of the mod is to make the EXISTING shift button functionality easier to reach.

The first time I felt the need to do so was in the mountains, where I wanted to engine brake.

I have the 2014 R/T and it has a heated steering wheel with radio controls on the backside. Does any of this come into play when rewiring or mounting the paddles?

Okay, here's what I found to support this....
Left paddle - P/N 1YR09DX9AC - $60
Right paddle -P/N 1YR10DX9AC - $60
Wiring Harness - P/N 68240476AA - $65

All part numbers are 2014 Durango R/T

Does this help?

Very much. I had assumed the paddles were not available without the wheel.

Those P/N's are straight out of the Dodge House Service Computers.

I've researched the wiring on this. The Durango is so drastically different that I have little hope of making it work.

We need part numbers from a steering wheel that has the square steering wheel buttons that our Ram has. Examples are the 2013 and 2014 Challenger. If you can find the part number for paddle shifters from a wheel with buttons like ours, I can wire it up.

Even though I can wire it up, I can't be certain that it will work. From what I can tell, the paddles are talking to the steering wheel buttons. Those buttons talk to the truck. So, I can make a harness that will allow the paddles to talk to the buttons, but that doesn't mean the truck will listen to the buttons.

I never saw your last reply with the part numbers. I'll go to the dealer this weekend and order the parts.

I'm still just trying to buy an entire wheel, so that I can see how it's supposed to look.

Just waiting on someone on Ebay to accept my offer.

The wheel came in, and it doesn't look good. The paddles and radio buttons are modular on the Chrysler 200 wheel I received. It seems like a pretty good design.

Unfortunately, our wheels are a single molded piece of plastic. It would be difficult to trim down and screw these parts in. Here are some pictures, in case you guys have any ideas. Also, if anyone has access to a wheel from a different car, but with the same style buttons we have, I'd like to see those pictures.

The wheel from our truck.
