Anyone else have water drain out of the body bolts?

I installed a set of 3" tubular nerf bars on my Ram 1500. When I took the body bolts out to install the mounting brackets, I got a stream of nasty brown water running down my arm. Both sides, driver and passenger. Needless to say I wasn't very happy. I can't believe that's a normal occurrence. It's still relatively new, I got it in September of '18, but I'm wondering if I might have a blocked drain somewhere. Standing water can't be good for the long term health of the body or frame. Maybe it is typical, but you guys know more than I do. This is my first Ram. I'm coming from a 2005 Nissan so I'm still learning.

Can any dryer climate owners chime in?

Here in Tucson it doesn't rain much other than in the summer.

This an issue for all Rams (1500, 2500, 3500 etc)?

I noticed it too when I took one out on mine last year chasing a noise. A **** ton of water came pouring out. I'll have to look into the drilling a hole in the washer thing and see if that works.

Yup, drilling the holes is on my to-do list. Anyone know the TQ spec for the bolts?

My door was full of water a couple of days ago. It hadnt rained in a few days and i noticed water dripping from the front side of the rear pass. door. I opened it and started poking around where the drip was coming from. A big plug of mud was blocking the weep hole behind the bottom of the rubber trim. It was so much water it looked like a water hose pouring out!

Needless to say, I seriously inspected all my other doors to make sure the weep holes were clear.

I noticed the water in my driver front body mount bolt as I needed to take both front ones to install my ICI Trophy bumper. Is there pics anywhere showing what portion of the washer to drill? Do we have to take the phackers out to drill?

How did the threads look, were they rusty?...Are you guys putting anything on the bolt threads like anti sieze or thread loctite?

No rust but I wiped them down and sprayed corrosion free into the mount and on the threads will drill another day

Thanks for all of the great information. I guess I'll be pulling them again. I'll drill and probably spray them. I did think the torque setting was supposed to be 70 lb/ft rather than 80. At least that's what I torqued mine to.
