Thinking about these when the stock Goodyears are worn. They're 15lb more per tire. Has anyone done this? If so how did it affect performance and MPG? Numbers would be nice. Thanks.

I ran 4.10s with 35s on my silverado with the 5.3. Mileage wasn't great but it turned them just fine.

I did not go with the BFG. I did however go with the Toyo Open Country AT2 tires in the stock size. The weights are very close to the same. I noticed a slight drop in MPG. But the look and feel is much better, so I am ok with it. I think it was maybe .5 mpg loss. So nothing major. Again, I am talking about Toyo. But I am sure results would be about the same.

Ok that pretty much made my decision, I'm going with Toyos...

Wont be disappointed. I spent a lot of time going back and forth. And these have been great. And Toyo has a great warranty program included free on the tires. If it can't be fixed, you get a brand new tire at a pro rated price based on tread life at time of defect. I have pics also, but this isn't a Toyo thread so I won't muddy it up anymore lol.

One site says the Open Country AT2's in the stock 275/60r20 is 43lbs a tire. Dont quite remember what the KO2 weigh.

The stock Goodyear's are 40lbs I believe so the Toyos are a great replacement option at 43lbs. I think the KO2s are 55lbs for the stock size as they are a LT tire.

They do make the AT2's in an LT option as well. But they are 33x1250 and I did not need LT rated tires and they are a lot heavier. The P-Rated standard tires will do just fine for normal truck use.

Well hell I'll go with those then. I only look at BFG because I've always run them with good luck. The Toyos are cheaper, better tread rating, and lighter. Seem like they have good road manners. Sounds good to me. This truck won't be used much off-road (nothing more than the stocks could handle anyway), and won't be used to tow much. I just wanted something a bit more agressive than the goodyears. Thanks for everyone's input!

I really do like them a lot. They have done great in the rain at highway speeds as well, which for me is 70-75.
