Hi all - just pulled into my driveway and noticed when I put the truck into park that I heard a "clunk" sound from the rear of the vehicle. I think it's coming from the rear - it's definitely NOT coming from the front.

Also, the sound ONLY happens when moving from reverse to park. All other gears shift and progress properly on the PRNDL. There is no shifting problem while driving either.

Any ideas what this might be or where I might start to look?

Thanks for your assistance!

With a clunk from shifting into/outof park/reverse/drive - first place to check is the U-Joints.

A little clunk going in and out of the park lug is common.

Thanks folks - the sound stopped just as suddenly as it started. Still not sure what it was but I will definitely be paying more attention to shifting from R to P while parking.
