I am at my witt's end. as some of you may know i blew a 6x9 in my front door and my deck stopped reading CDs, so i purchased a new pioneer 33hd head unit and some 150 dollar kicker component speakers. I wire everything up according to the wiring manual, the deck powers on but no SOUND, i try, ipod, cd, radio, no sound!! so i rip everything apart rewire it all back together, still nothing!! I figured i would take the doors apart, i am drilling one of the mounting screws into the bracket to hold one of the component speakers, a screw slips and my drill slams into my speaker making a huge gash in it........there goes 150 bucks......glad i make minimum wage.............What on earth could be wrong with my system? and what can i do with one component speaker, i honestly i am so pissed that one small screw slipping causes me 20 hours of work i have been saving up for 2 months.

so mainly my 2 questions are, What am i missing? i have the infinity audio system and my deck will power on but not a peep is coming from my system and what do i do about that door speaker as i wont be able to afford another set for at least 2-3 more months....
End rant.

Also where do i run lines to my battary? like a sub wiring kit where do i run the wires? is there a nice convenient place to run them?

Have you tried hooking a speaker to just the head unit with out running through factory wiring. May have a bad head unit. And for the messed up speaker, did you order offline or through a local audio seller? I would try to return them, tthe worst they can say is no.

Bought them from crutch-field, it was my own stupid falt for braking the speaker. i tried hooking up the head unit to just a 6.5 with no luck. So the head unit could be DOA, or is the infinity system in the rams funky? does it require different wiring?

i checked the mute, it still wont play, i sodered the wires, so custom cut and crimp job. but the strange thing is, the unit powers up just fine, but no sound not even static is released from any of the working speakers, it is like something with the speaker wiring is totally messed up.

oh ok.. you could have wires crossed somewhere.. I would call crutchfield first see what they have to say, if they wont help then my next call would be to pioneer. Also I would suggest rewiring the factory plug and go to walmart and get the harness adapter for it.. I know you said money is tight but that is what I would do.. Make the calls and see if they can help first then go from there..

kk ill make the calls tomorrow, i took all of the electrical tape off and verified every connection was color matched, i made sure the ground was grounded, no wires were touching, i got the wiring harnesses from crutch field but it was 2 of them that needed to be sodered together.

a drill with a philips head ripped into the speaker and basically killed it.

Ok another question
Where do i run a line to my battery? where is a good place to run a wiring kit for subs? is there a set up location for them? is where a place where the clutch used to be?
thanks

I ran mine through a little rubber hole right below the steering column and up into the battery sounds crazy but it worked for me and I haven't had any other problems with it yet.
