I browse a 2003 2500 Cummins, auto. how hard and what is involved in dropping in a manual transmission? Has anyone else here done this? The only reason why I ask is because I may beagle to get a free 6 speed out of a 2003 Cummins.

Not sure, but I did a 5 speed swap on my stang, and from what I know on my 2004 1500 it should be a fairly straight swap. I know I my stang, I had to swap the pedal assy. Swap out the flex plate, and install a pilot bearing. You will also need a custom tune, to tune out your auto features. Again, this is what I know from doing a 5 spd swap on the stang.

Its pretty straight forward as long as you have all the required parts. I think you would need the computer from the truck that your taking the manual trans out of, if it is compatible with your truck, but its defiantly worth it

you would need the trans, tcase (if your truck is 4x4) petals, possibly drive
shafts, slave cylinder with master, clutch kit, flywheel and im pretty sure that's all of the important parts lol
easiest thing to do is get a parts truck if possible
