So you want a monster tac in front of the stock one? You could just wire in a shift light and use the OEM tac and save a few hundred.

Get a auto meter level 1 shift light and mount that to the A pillar. gives rpm display and then program your rpm shift point for the light.
part # Auto Meter 5343

Pic of Greg's setup.

I have the raptor performance shift light hooked to my pillar and worked great for accurate 6900-7k landing shifts on my old cam. Set at 6300rpm for my current setup now. it does not display rpm.

Pic to get an idea of placement.

The rear axle should have a speed sensor for the stock tach, you should be able to wire your Aftermarket tach to the stock speed sensor

ok.....your rpm tach sensor is not on the axle, its on or by the distributor, your speedometer sensor is on the tailshaft of the transmission
