Hi guys,
I have a 2019 1500 Classic with 20" chrome plated rims and I hit the mother of all pot holes and bent a rim. I thought to myself...no problem, just go to the dealership and get a new one. Hahahaha. In Canada here and I am looking at over $1500. So, I went to a few places to get a used one and found one at a wrecker's yard and of course, it is bent as well. Fed up a bit with it all and was thinking of maybe just buying third-part wheels. Has anyone got suggestions for good quality, fair priced wheels?
Thanks very much.
Watch out for those pot holes. Man.

I just bought a set of 22" for my 2020 Limited - 4 wheels for $900. I only needed one but the dealer wanted over $2000 USD. If you are in a big city you can find deals like this. I'm near Dallas.

Hit up a few local dealers especially ones that specialize in lifting brand new trucks, quite often they'll have brand new take offs.I bought 4 brand new 20" Sport wheels a little over a year ago from a local dealer for $400 here in Alberta, pulled the brand new Wranglers off the rims and sold them for $400 on my local Market Place, and ended up with 4 brand new rims for what the tire shop charged me to dismount the tires which was $50.
Helps being on a first name basis with the local dealers and tire shops, and having cash on me. ;)They originally wanted a $1000 for them,i told them i had 400 in cash in my pocket, take it or leave it,it was closing time at months end,and they took it :Big Laugh:

Check out Midwest Wheel and Tire. They have wheels that are exact replicas of OEM and could possibly beat the OEM dealers price?

Too bad that you live up there in the North Country

Down here in the South West, there are several used tire shops
They must hit up all the Auto Dismantling Yards, they grab up descent Tires that are still mounted & sell the Tires & wheels separately, at great prices

I did just this and the dealer said he had 4 new take offs and went to get them but couldn't find them. Would have been a real deal like you said and he is now still looking for them. Thanks again for this advice!
Cheers

Do you have any wheel repair shops near you? Years ago I hit a nasty pothole and bent 2 rims on a Dodge Neon. I took both wheels to a repair shop and they were able to repair both a lot cheaper than what one new mag wheel would have cost.

I went to a shop and they said because it has chrome attached to the aluminum wheels that they would wind up cracking the chrome. Thanks though.

I still see a couple PT cruisers running around yet, they are the same chassis I think.
the first thing I remember thinking about those, you have to be a midget to work on it, or just pick the body off.

Luckily the only thing that I had to replace was a battery ground cable. I sold it with about 106k miles. Also it helps if your short working on them.
