Hi, just looking for a better price for a OBD MX+, as I am in Canada and pricing on Amazon is $209.00. Any leads to a better deal? Or is there another dongle that will work just as well? I am installing a 7" Evic cluster into my 2022 Ram 1500. I know that I have to buy the security bypass cable too, but it's not that badly priced. Thanks in advance.

Anybody? Please? This is for a 2022 Ram 1500 Classic Tradesman.

I use a $75 CDN OBDLink SX (USB) interface with AlfaOBD for windoze.

I don't have much appreciation for android anything, it's a crappy OS, AFAIC.
And, there's no way in hell I'm going to connect a POS OS to my truck.

If you're looking at different Security Gateway bypass solutions, check out KaodTech.
Well constructed, easy installation and can stay installed indefinitely, and the OBD2 port remains available.

Thanks so much, yes I am going to get the KaodTech bypass harness for sure, and I have a google chromebook for my laptop, hopefully the chromebook will be ok to use, just need to change odometer, idle and run time hours on my new 7" Evic, then I am done for quite a while.

OOPs, guess the google chromebook wont do it, its not a windows based system, now another hurdle to jump over, got to find a cheap laptop or do the android thing with my phone and another bluetooth dongle. Damm.

You're most welcome.

I deleted my google OS blurb, yes. AFAIK, android or windoze.
More users seem to use android but having worked in Telecom for most of my working life, I wouldn't dare.

I had originally planned to start using AlfaOBD for windoze and then buy the android app too so I could easily change things on the road anytime.

After playing the AlfaOBD, learning of its capability and assisting many users with their AlfaOBD challenges, I decided to forget about using it on a phone.

If I make any significant changes that are new to me, I toss my laptop in a travel bag and take it with me so I can remove anything that causes me grief.

At minimum, I would buy a small windoze tablet (provided it has a USB connection for the OBDlink SX), if I couldn't find a small laptop.

The snow is calling me now, I need a trail to the woodshed before nightfall.
