Purchased a used vehicle recently.. while at the dealership, I inquired about the spacing at the top of the bed/cab area was different from the bottom. I was told to shim the bed (at the dealership) and it was only cosmetic.

Checked the CARFAX as well as several other great VIN history reports and none showed any structural damage.. no bent frame etc. CARFAX only reported minor damage but didn’t specify where.

I took it by a local body shop and was told the frame looked great but the bed of the truck appeared to be bent as its curved upwards in the middle of the bed slightly and the rear has a “downhill” angle.

How can I remedy this?

What kind of dealer? Was it a RAM dealer or a run of the mill used car dealer? A lot of places scam damage. They can WASH titles if it has something on it. CARFAX is only good if the damage was reported. In this can that doesn't mean this was an accident, it could have been the owner doing something stupid and bent it. If you felt there was something wrong with this truck that is shady or hidden then whey would you have purchased it?? After spending your hard earned money you now are already looking to fix an issue .......not being a **** but unless the salesman had a gun to your head or they gave you a super sweat deal that truck should still be on the sales lot.

I did… didn’t really explain how to fix other than shims.

The bed Is bent. The only way to fix it is to replace it. Period. You shouldn't have purchased this truck if you saw an issue. Just saying
