I have seen so many negative posts by those that are having issues with Stellantis and warranty work. One month ago I purchased a new Ram 1500, this last week my windshield cracked in two locations on the lower drivers side with no apparent signs of impact. One was a 4” horizontal crack that appeared only in the middle layer of the windshield, the other was a curved crack from the extreme lower corner of the drivers side and extended up towards the center of the windshield approx 8”. I figured them to be stress cracks so I went to a glass repair/replace shop to have the windshield replaced. The tech looked at the cracks and told me it was a defect in the windshield and I should take it to my dealer. I figured I had a better chance of seeing Christ than getting Stellantis to replace a cracked windshield as being defective, but what the heck. I took it to my dealership with out an appointment and the asst service manager and the warranty manager looked at the cracks and took pictures and miracle of miracle the next day I received a call that Stellantis would replace the windshield under warranty. Windshield is supposed to be in next week to get installed. Hopefully I don’t have any other issues but it was actually a pleasure that this turned out without having to go to battle with Stellantis. Could it be that because the of the new CEO at Stellantis they are going to improve on warranty repairs?

Patience, Christ will be here soon enough.
Not early or late - Right on time.

Good to hear they are taking care of it but that can also mean a body flex issue is to blame.
Are you driving it offroad at times by chance?

Rough terrain can and will cause body flex, sometimes to the point it's capable of cracking a windshield along with other fitment issues to the vehicle.

So far it has been a pavement princess. The warranty manager said there has been a similar issue of cracks in the same locations on one of their sedan models.

I have a 2016 1500 5.7 and the only problem with the dealer is a fuel sending unit failing on/off. Otherwise they have had 2 visits for exhaust bolts, last month a thermostat housing leak. No complaints with the dealer as the truck has MaxCare warranty with 110k miles on it now.

How much is your Maxcare warranty and how long or miles does that cover. I've heard good things about CarMax

Maybe things are getting better….last month I brought my out of warranty 2021 Ram 1500 Bighorn into the dealership for water leakage. The leaks were located on the left and right sides of my rear cab windshield. The dealership which was not the same one that I had originally purchased my Ram 1500 replaced the rear windshield as a one time courtesy! Miracles do happen.

Are positive comments still allowed?

With well over 100K miles my dealer replaced the cracked right side exhaust manifold under warranty and I didn't even ask for it.

It is mostly how your dealer presents the warranty paper work and what they write

They replaced the windshield on my 21 or 22 (can't remember which) for the same reason. It was no issue at all!
