I have an 04' 1500 w/20" stock wheels and tires. I am looking to do some performance tweaks (I.e. intake, header, chip, etc) but I would like some advice on what is going to give me the most noticeable difference in performance. I'm not big on the top speed, and since I tow I would like more torque, quicker shifting (if possible) or if nothing else better gas mileage.

Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Hey 70x7 thanks for the quick reply. Do you have any suggestions on a good tuner? I see them all over the place just not sure which 1 of 1,000 are worth anything.

X2 for a tuner (will it make the transmission shift quicker?) I know some claim to help with that. The super chips are the ones you see for $69?

I'm not sure about $69 but I'm sure you can find one or two here on the forums for sale for a pretty good deal.

Superchips has an "advanced transmission tuning" upgrade for $40. It lets you control the shift schedule (upshift& downshift) at different throttle positions throughout the rpms & lower part throttle & WOT torque management. which is one cause for slow shifts. Increasing line pressure with a line pressure booster will also speed up shift times.

really it all comes down to preference as the gains are all decently close.
I have the Superchips Cortex on current truck but had Superchips flashpaq on previous one. No complaints. I am thinking about going with Diablo Intune though..for no other reason but to have the technology cooler and try something I havent had

Agree, and welcome. Check out my sig for a whole list of how to get these quadcabs moving for Fun and best Mileage over stock for sure. Don't put too big of tires on there. I also Tow a 34 foot Trailer (6950 lbs Dry) and am good to go, hence the 2600 Torque Converter, Drop in Cam, Superchips, Exhaust and Gears to name a few, expensive Hobby but when you get it where you want it the reward of ownership is there and who needs a Big Truck payment (save that for the Wifes Ride).

Typically you can find a used SC3865 for less than $200 plus the trans tuning another $40. Just make sure it still isn't married to the old vehicle.
