True. Some trucks come with them and others don't. Mine didn't so I added what the factory didn't.Looks good. I would argue that it became a mod as soon as you stuck it on the truck.

I read all 293 pages of this forum (and now have thousands of dollars planned out in "under $100 mods") but couldn't believe that I'm the first to post this one. While there's been other bed storage options, this is by far the cheapest. This 2x4 just slides right into the existing bed slots. I put a scrap spacer block to keep my craftsman set from sliding left to right, but it fits perfect. I put one up front too for my chains, jumper cables, zip ties, etc.
Also I made a "free" gauge pod in the dash using the existing pointless cubby above the 110 outlet with a little super glue, a plastic lid, and some flat black paint I had laying around. I used it to hold the gauge for my airlift compressor
