Low and behold, I am updating the most aggressive/best option tire that will fit for a stock 2012 RAM, I may be inclined to putting a leveling kit on if the tire looks right. I just joined here and have been looking through the tire sizes but just wanted to reach out and get everyone's opinion.

If your leveled, a 285/65/20...I did it with a Nitto Terra Grappler G2 before I just lifted it.

I was looking at the Nitto Terra Grappler, would the LT285/55R20 fit on my truck? If that fits, I May go with that. What benefits would I gain with putting a 2.5 in level kit on the front? What would be the next best larger tire I could fit on? I have read that you may get away with 33 in, but a 35 would probably rub. Thanks.

Tire sizes really depends on your budget... I went with stock size because I wasnt doing a lift besides the 2.1" level and did not want to deal with spacers. Price was also a big purchase point for me; stock is around $160.00 each compared to 35's which were $300.00+ each.

Just remember if your running 20"s your basically at 33" with the height you just don't have the width.

Anyways these are Falken Wildpeak At3w's...

If you're looking for an aggressive but streetable all-terrain, check out the BFGoodrich T/A KO2 or the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac. Both have very good reviews and I have buddies running both that love them. Personally I have a hard time with the tread noise of anything more than a standard all-terrain. I did like my Goodyear Adventurer with Kevlar (tri-peak snow rated) for it's moderately aggressive tread and nice road manners.

I dont notice the road noise on these Falkens unless I listen really hard.

Good ≠ attractive.

Do you want a good tire, or do you want a good looking tire? What do you want the tire to be good at? What do you want the tire to look like.

I've had all sorts of tires over the years. If you just want insanely aggressive and pretty good go check out interco tires. I've had many random tires over the years and am partial to the bogger and tsl tires. They wont be the best on road, but compared to the others the majority of MT and AT tires suck off road because they are only for looks. At least with the tsl and bogger you've actually got great off road performance.

BFG AT KO2 always my top choice. Due to cost my next set will be treadwright I have wanted to try them and they now have in 20 inch.

For my money, either Toyo R/T or Nitto Trail Grappler. I went with the Toyo in 275/65/20 and kind of regret going larger in height while keeping stock width. Next set will definitely be wider.

I live my firestone m/t2’s seem to be food at pretty much all terrain and that’s including pavement. Plus they look damn good and nobody runs em so for me that is a plus. And don’t forget made in the usa. Unlike my g2’s on my jeep.

I have 35x12.5x20’s in stock rims no lift and 1-1/2” spacers with pretty much no rub but at full lock. If it was leveled Im sure nothing would rub.
