I have not seen any threads on pricing and when to buy.
If you do a google search on when is the best time to buy a p-u they just tell you about THAT month, all very generic.

So my ? for you all is...... What time of year is the BEST time to get LAST Years Rams?
Has anyone ever watched this in detail to see ?

I know there are good deals now for the All-New 1500 but really the 2020 have almost the Same price.
So why would someone take a '19 over a '20?
My last vehicle didn't matter, I got a better deal then most for that model ('17 Bolt EV) but if I had waiting till now I could have paid 1/2 of what I did ;).
Last 2 trucks I ordered before they had the Year's model on the manufacturing line. F-350 Diesel Crew Cab & GMC Yukon XL Both I kept for about 12 years.
I don't NEED a p-u right now but will need one with in the year. Just trying to find the best price when they really dump the price on the all-New 1500.
FYI I am in Massachusetts

December is usually when everyone is pulling out all the stops to pump up the annual sales numbers. Dealers are likely to have the greatest amount of factory subsidies.

But there are no absolutes; you’ll never know what a particular dealership’s financial situation is unless you’re an insider.

And the factory incentives are a revolving door anymore, with some expiring, others being extended or replaced all the time. And they’ve gotten very specific as to what models, trim packages, and geographic areas are covered. I was talking with a salesperson about a year ago who said it was confusing even for them.

There are a number of variables these days. It used to be that going into a salesroom the last couple days of the month or sales quarter was the best time to make a deal. But over the past couple of years the manufacturers have had trouble managing their inventories and the days supply has gone to as much a 4 months supply on dealers lots and in the pipeline. When that happens the factory provides incentives to try to reduce inventory as quickly as possible.

For example back in June of 2019 this was being reported:
"Sales of GM’s recently redesigned Silverado are off 11.8 percent so far this year compared with the same period last year. Colorado sales have dipped 6.7 percent. GM had an 89 day inventory of trucks in June, the largest of the Detroit automakers, according to Adam Jonas, an analyst for Morgan Stanley. That compares to 81 days for Ford and 75 days for Ram."

Factory incentives are important in terms of the price you can wrangle from a dealer, especially if you don't buy a truck that is already sitting on their lot.
In my area the dealers are all ordering Crew Cab V-8 5'7" box vehicles that are loaded with an additional $6,000 in chrome and other accessories that add nothing to the capabilities of the truck.

Heck even the Crew Cab trucks cost $2,655 more than an identically equipped Quad cab truck. The front bucket seats add $895 with the Quad cab and they add $1295 to the cost of a Crew cab truck and the front seats are going to be the same in both cabs.
