First I want to say, JJ you are talented and have a lot of patience. I just finally got the balls to do the headlight housings and man was that a process. Baked at 250 for about 12 min do get the glue workable. They aren't perfect but the imperfects are tiny. Just glad I got them back together. I want to buy another set of stock headlights and give it another try with some more creativity. Anyways here's some pics for you guys. Looks good!

We're they permasealed or was it butyl glue? Trying to work up the nerve and time to do my halos on my 14's stock projectors.

Just looked closer at your pics. How did you mount the LED's at the base of your windshield like that? Any closer pics?

They look great! My set took waaaaaaaaay too long as I was uber-careful not to bugger the $100 Kijiji set I bought up.
It's not "hard", but it is tricky to do well.

Thanks guys ! Like I said there's some imperfections but you can't notice unless I point them out :)
I believe it was permasealed. It was black and once it cooled it was very hard plastic.
It wasn't difficult so to speak but was time consuming along with patience.
Just be careful when sticking things in to pry them open. I used a flat head screwdriver at first but soon realized it was too much. So I used these hard plastic tools I use to pull door panels apart.

I Fabricated a mount out of very thin scrap metal almost like an L bracket. I also fabricated a flag and light mount for my bed ImageUploadedByTapatalk1400746351.640444.jpg

Here's a pic with my 5k 55w HIDs installed
I love my headlights now. Should keep me satisfied for a while.

Hey man. Sorry to drag your thread up but looking for advice. Finally built up the nerve to try taking my lights apart and have a question or two.

Once you remove them from the truck how far did you tear them down before baking? Just remove the back plate and bulbs? I can't see anything else that can be easily removed?

Remove the bulbs the rubber from the back and remove the bulb covers. Basically anything with rubber on it haha you don't want that melting

Hey guys just an update I finally got everything I need, so I am starting my second set of blackout headlights and I got my oracle lights as well. So I'll post pictures of the results. The only thing I'm doing different this time around is painting the turn signal black. I taped it off before

Love it man!!! I wanna do the same to mine. I don't have the courage yet to open up my lights though although I've read some how-to's. Were they hard to reseal or any issues with condensation? And if you don't mind around what did you pay for the Oracles? A local shop quotes me WAYY to much for these I feel, I want a realistic figure.

Thanks!
